3 Personality Types of the Entrepreneur and their Assets and Liabilities

The Dreamer Mindset Type:

AssetThe dreamer has no problem coming up with ideas and often thinks bigger than most.  They live in a 'dream world' and they've been told this most of their lives.  They love to share their ideas and are  sometimes grandiose. These thinkers visually see things others can't and have a knack for seeing trends.  They often have a hard time living in the present moment because the future seems so much brighter.  They will go to this place in their minds because it makes them happier and it's exciting. The Dreamers are sometimes eclectic and find repetition mundane.  They are social people that love to share and even listen to the ideas of others so that they can add input and vision to the conversation.  The Dreamer lives so much in the future that they always seem to be at least one step ahead of everyone else in their thinking.

Liability- The struggles for this personality type mindset appears to be in the 'getting-started' part.  They can't seem to get out of their head and put one step forward long enough to make their ideas come to life.  They let fear prevent them from taking too much action and their many ideas trip them up.  They can't stay on one path long enough to get any real traction and seek others to share their many ideas with.  They've made the mistake of telling too many people what they are going to do which has later embarrassed them  when they didn't follow-thru and have a growing lack of confidence because of it.  They're ideas are fantasies that they love to 'live' in but have no real idea how to turn them into reality.  Not being detailed oriented people they can't see the smaller steps to take in order to get going and when they do begin they get sidetracked by another idea that may just take them on a completely different path altogether.  They procrastinate, roominate and stew over the idea.  They love the feeling the idea gives them.  Often times the Dreamer Mindset type has been accused of self-sabotaging behavior.  They are usually trapped in a job or career they don't really like but won't ever quit because it's comfortable and they don't really believe their ideas have enough merit so they don't bother starting or taking too much action.

The Creator Type-

Asset- These people love to take ideas to the next step.  They are the builders of the world.  They love the tangible and can take an idea to the next step easily and faster than most.   They don't let fear stop them from much.  They love hobby's and have many.  They are artists, crafters, tinkerers and constructors.  They work best with their hands and will take on a lot more than most people.  They thrive on environments that let them 'dig-in' and can work for hours upon hours doing what they love.  They create in their dreams at night.  They can see the big picture but they shine when they are in the present moment because that's where the action is.  They want to move around, use them bodies as much as their brains.  They are visual and asthetically brilliant.  They are the people that will take the 1st, 2nd and even the 3rd steps while others are just thinking about it.  They don't need a plan to get started because the plan is in the action.  They have many projects going at once.  They think classrooms are boring.  They don't want to waste their time with discussing the big idea they just want to jump in.  Why not?  is their motto.  They are free spirited and love a challenge.  They are wondering why everyone is sitting around.  If they sit too long their brains go to sleep.  They get bored easily.  They get things off of the ground and move forward.  Not much stops them from finding things to do.  These people are BOLD thinkers.  They are not afraid of failure.  They see failure as part of the picture and find satisfaction in the adventure.  They are confident in their endeavors most of the time.  They are free spirited and people love them.  They can get in the zone best when they are doing what they love and given free reign.  If there are too many pre-written steps to take they are to follow they will likely lose interest.

Liability- The creator Types detest monotony and crave change, action and speed of implementation.  When their project seems to get a little tricky or mundane they will move on to their next project causing unfinished business and wasted effort. They have many plates spinning and it causes problems in their social life.  They don't want to conform so they will run from it.  They have such a hard time with consistency that it often causes them to spiral into another project before one is complete or successful. This causes money problems. Their finances are a disaster or unpaid bills are constant at best. They think rules are boring so they rebel when too many exist or 'box them in'.  They can't sit still.  They get antsy when they are forced to. They are messy, unorganized and struggle keeping track of their projects or what step they were working on.  When they become unsure of what to do to finish a project or task they either start another project or jump to the next.  They are distracted by actions of others because they want to jump in.

The Implementor or Implentress-

Asset- These people get the most done.  They are detailed, thorough and will implement anything that makes sense. The take direction very well and are great listeners.  They observe others and take note.  They admire perfection. They are consistent and will follow-thru making them reliable and admired by others.  They make good business people. They don't mind routine and will stick with a task until it's finished. They love results and feeling productive.  They are good with money and their finances.  They are usually clean, organized and rarely late. These people are constant, steadfast and level headed. They are often comfortable with enough. They take things slow and think rushing is sloppy.  They don't understand the need for speed when thorough is the most important thing to them.

Liability-
Their need for order and simple causes them to NOT be the most creative.  They don't come up with ideas very often that aren't someone else's. They don't necessarily have BIG dreams and aren't the most successful because of it.  They aren't the most futuristic minds and don't catch on to trends.  They are slower and live in the present or the past. When they get stuck with an idea they've implemented they just decide to start over or go back to doing what was working in the beginning.  They aren't big fans of taking risks and this stunts growth that they could surely take to the level a creator or dreamer could never. They seem boring to most but it's because they're focused on what needs to get done. They are the tortoise in the race.  They are logical detail oriented and are most likely to make things happen when given an idea but the problem is they don't always trust that the idea has merit.  They don't get too excited.  They keep quiet about their dreams and won't risk losing if they can't see a sure thing.  They aren't the best with change.  They think if something is working good enough why change direction.
