How to Create a Passive Income with an Information Product

Passive Income flows in many ways and in many forms.  Whether it is flowing into your business or life through real estate, a tangible product or you are bringing it in online through an information product it will change your life!

I teach business owners and passionate entrepreneurs how to create passive income products to deposit the passive income stream into their bank account literally while they sleep.

I can tell you how to do it too.

There are steps you will need to know though and many of us struggle with where to begin and how to implement this into our lives.  Lack of Clarity gets in our way …especially those of us that are creative and full of ideas.
It’s one thing to want to take an idea and create an information product…. and let me tell you it can be fun…I’m the queen of ideas let me tell you!   However, it’s a whole different game when it comes to knowing how to make it work effortlessly, effectively and within a week after development.

I’d like to share with you steps to get you there faster and what you need to do and ‘know’ about your buyer or client before you dig into the development process.

1. GAIN CLARITY: Who’s your client?  What do they need & want?  Everyone has an ideal client and the most important thing you can do is to get to know them so very well that you begin speaking their language and really speaking to their heart.  Your clients really needs to feel like YOU know what they need before they will buy.  Some of the best ways to get to know your ideal client is to ask questions….ask questions in your social media or in a survey using Survey Monkey and use those results to create the product!  Another great way to know what may be a HOT commodity out there is to look at Amazon.  Not enough people use Amazon to really glance inside the mind of their potential clients.  Here is what you can do…go to Amazon.com and in the search bar choose ‘Books’ from the drop down menu and then type in your niche and search.  Now just look at the number of results.  A good rule of thumb to go by is if it’s more than 150, that tells you it’s a pretty popular niche on Amazon and will tell you it’s a desired and HOT information topic.  Now, do this again but choose “Movies & TV” from the drop down menu and type in your niche and search again.  More than 25 results is good here.  If your search passed the test on Amazon, it’s a good competitive niche which tells us people want it and are already buying it.  Make sense?  Good.  Let’s go to step #2.

2. Define Your Unique SystemWhether you are in the massage, photography, metaphysical, golf, real estate or pet industry it doesn’t matter as much as what is it that you do to help your clients.  Whether you know it or not you have a system of some kind that helps them with pain management, photography ‘tips’, their golf swing or dog training ….you have an expertise that you can break down into steps they need and want to know and you can deliver that into an information product.  So, just start writing it down and breaking it down….it’s not that hard….I am doing it here now as I’m writing and explaining how to create an information product.  When you have your information product in your mind…you need to name it.  Give the product a name and each step a name as well.

3. Capture Leads: You need to capture leads now using an opt-in box in hopes that they find your sample information useful so that they can begin to realize your information product is what they need …another words, your objective is to convert them.   This helps people understand it and best of all will help them realize they need it to get their desired results….what ever that is.  I help people for instance make more money and the result is simply that. So you need now to create an opt-in box that speaks to them simply and in result oriented language.   I don’t tell people the steps in my marketing opt-in box that would be too overwhelming….I tell them the results they will get....MORE INCOME.  So, think about the results they will get when they sign up in your inbox….better baby pictures, better golf score, less pain in their lower back?

4. Consistently Communicate with them: It’s important for you to know in your business is that “the new currency is connection.”  This simply means that people are needing and wanting to connect more than ever before.  Believe it or not even though the internet & mobile devices have us communicating all day and night long through texting, social media and email…people are needing to actually connect with others….to feel as if they’ve been heard and understood.  So after they have opted-in on your email list it will be important to keep in touch with them leading them to a resolution to their problem and really connecting and caring about helping them and NOT just selling them your information product.  A good way to do this is to set up 7 initial automated emails that will go out to them immediately after they sign up in about 10 days.  A a good rule of thumb…No selling immediately…until they feel they have been heard, understood and cared for.

5. Create several Types of Information Products: The wonderful thing about info. products is that you can create a plethora of products and continue to break down steps of  “How-To’s” in many different forms.  You can create a program or product that covers many topics in one…or  short report or ebook on “How to Lose 10 lbs in 20 Days”…or an ‘at home program’ that teaches them to lose 100lbs as well as keep it off and how to cook for a year with healthy recipes etc. delivered in an automated  fashion over a span of a year…..that can actually be a great ‘recurring’ income…which I love to talk about too!
